Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. Parents are Manny James and Patty James. He is the blood of a Nigerian mother and an American caucasian father. In 2010, James graduated from Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he completed a bachelor's in Economics in 2015. James became famous when his appearance on The Bachelorette as a reality TV star. He was selected in 2020 to play the 25th season bachelor of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021. James's appearance, size and sense of humor made him a good fit for the part. The show ended when he selected Rachael Krkconnell to pursue a relationship with her. In 2021 he partnered with popular dancer Arnold for the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold were ranked 12th.
