Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz at a young age. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as the age of 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra was involved in many notable projects, both nationally and internationally. The projects include British biographical feature Control Greek dramatic film The Dust of Time French historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. Additionally, she was a member of both jury for the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
